Pilgrim's Guide
The shrine sits roughly equidistant from Devprayag and the Tehri Dam. Here is how to find your way to the summit.
Getting There
The usual starting point and nearest major railhead. From here the road climbs into the Garhwal hills.
About 74 km along the Badrinath highway, following the Alaknanda to the sacred confluence at Devprayag.
Roughly 31–32 km of mountain road brings you to the small settlement of Jamnikhal, the road-head for the temple.
From the taxi stand a short, moderate trek of about 1 km leads up to the summit shrine — about half an hour at an easy pace.

Chandrabadani Devi temple sits atop Chandrakoot mountain (30.3044° N, 78.6196° E), above Jamnikhal near Devprayag in Tehri Garhwal.
The temple is generally open from around 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily, with aartis at sunrise and sunset. Early morning and evening are the most rewarding — and the most beautiful — times for darshan.
April–June and September–November offer clear skies, pleasant weather and the best Himalayan views. Monsoon (July–August) can bring landslides on hill roads; winter brings snow and cold but a serene, uncrowded shrine.
